JOB SPOTLIGHT: Lead Digital Designer

You’re thinking, “There must be something out there for me that allows me to lead a team, think big and create amazing content for social media and digital platforms.”

What a coincidence! This might just be the thing.

We use the word ‘lead’ for a reason. You’ve got account managers, content and community managers, business development managers and news editors briefing in design jobs to you and your team all day, every day.

It’s your responsibility to not only execute these jobs with the utmost creativity and quality, but to lead your team in prioritising jobs, managing communication, exploring systems and processes to improve efficiency, and finally, pushing our agency to create better, cooler, more creative and higher quality content.

Ultimately, the role mainly involves creating content for publishing across our clients’ 100+ social media channels and for other digital channels like email, blogs and websites.

This content might be as simple as static images for email headers or homepage banners, to something more advanced like a 60-second promotional video or 2-minute explainer video, or short animated GIFs for digital display advertising. There may also be the occasional Squarespace build in there too.

You’ll work collaboratively with multiple roles across the agency to bring their creative visions to life, with a desire to continuously push boundaries.

What we want. 

Firstly, this is not an entry-level role. If that’s what you’re after, drop us a line and we might have something else for you.

However, years of experience are not a prerequisite. Instead, it’s all about your creative and design capability and demonstrable experience creating content for social media channels and digital platforms. The types of project size you’ve worked on, your knowledge of emerging trends and the fundamentals of digital design are key. A particular strength in video production is strongly desirable.

Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effect and PremierePro should be part of your DNA and you ideally know the ins and outs of Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube and LinkedIn (not just how to post photos of your cat).

Finally, exceptional time management skills are essential. You’ll be juggling multiple jobs, emails, conversations, tasks, projects and people simultaneously, and need to know how to prioritise effectively.

So who are we?

Jaden Social is the go-to digital agency for Australia’s biggest music and entertainment brands with a team who have a genuine passion for the clients they work with.

We’re a small team. 25 talented individuals hang out across two 3-level street-entry suites in sunny Crows Nest, just north of the bridge. Unlike the CBD, we actually see sunshine and leafy-green trees out our floor-to-ceiling windows, which we make the most of every Friday afternoon with a drink on the balcony.

During the week, we work hard. Don’t be fooled by the 9:30am start, we get sh*t done and deliver kickass campaigns for our clients.

And who are these “clients”?

Jaden Social was born 5 years ago out of building Twitter audiences for clients in the music and entertainment industry, snowballing into full-scale digital campaigns across multiple platforms utilising both paid and unpaid media.

Today, our clients range from recording artists from major labels Universal Music, Sony Music and Liberation Music to music festivals, national tours and musical instruments. We also work across brands in food and beverage, real estate, tech startups and more.
